Repair

Fitfork will repair all fork types. Typical repairs being re hard chroming of Pitted fork stanchions, straigtening bent stanchions and broken lugs that need welding.

Fork Stanchion Repair

On receipt of the stanchions we check for straightness and damage. If the stanchion has any stress cracks or bulging due to excessive bending then we will inform you that the stanchion is beyond repair. We will other wise straighten the stanchion tube.

The Stanchion is then ground down to remove all traces of rust and chrome. It is then re- hard chromed back to the original dimensions. The re chroming process takes several days as it is building up a hard chrome surface and the filling of pitting or other marks. This is not the same as decorative chroming. We aim for the stanchions to be completed in about 10 working days.

Metal work repair

Fitforx will repair all metal work: Head lamp, brackets, nacelle, outer fork tubes and brokem lugs on fork sliders. We carry out both steel and aluminium welding.
